Aftermath of Destruction from Hurricane Sandy in Staten Island

By JASPER CHANG

Fordham College Lincoln Center student Jasper Chang, class of 2013, photographed Hurricane Sandy’s devastating effects on the town of Tottenville, Staten Island. This southernmost coastal point of the island suffered intense destruction, as seen in these images taken on Nov. 6, 2012.

Chang has a strong connection to the town—he attended Totten Middle School and Tottenville High School, where he later volunteered as the high school gymnastics coach. After the storm, Tottenville High School was used as an emergency shelter for people displaced by the hurricane.
