In Focus: Scenes From Today’s Encampment and Outdoor Protests

 

After a Gaza Solidarity Encampment was set up in the early hours of Wednesday, May 1, protesters from within Fordham and across the city gathered outside Fordham University’s Leon Lowenstein Center. Police presence expanded throughout the afternoon until they arrested the 13 students and 2 alumni remaining in the encampment just before 6 p.m. Our reporters were on the ground. Here’s what they saw.

Charlie Kuster (he/him), FCLC ‘25, is the assistant features editor at The Observer. He is a film and television major with a concentration in film. He spends his free time watching his favorite sports teams, which include the New York Mets, New York Giants, and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
