Moments of Fordham University’s 2022 Commencement Ceremony.

After four years of hard work, graduates and their families came out to celebrate their achievements despite the extreme weather

The extremely hot weather, with a high of 88 degrees, didn’t stop anyone — not even Fordham University’s graduating class of 2022.

The university hosted the 177th annual Commencement Ceremony at the Rose Hill campus on May 21. The commencement celebrations began at Edwards Parade, with a ceremony where the Deans presented each of the graduates by college and conferred their degrees, alongside a speech from guest speaker Rev. Calvin O. Butts III.

Following the commencement ceremony, around 12:45 p.m., each college hosted their own diploma ceremony, in which the graduates were able to walk the stage. Fordham College at Lincoln Center’s (FCLC) ceremony was held at the Walsh Family Library Lawn.

To commemorate the celebration, a member of The Observer’s multimedia team took photographs at the event, joining the thousands of students and families in attendance.
