Douglas Brinkley, a professor at Rice University, accepted the Ann M. Sperber Award on Nov. 26 at Fordham College at Lincoln Center (FCLC). As mentioned in an earlier Observer article, he won the award for his book “Cronkite,” a biography on the life and work of Walter Cronkite that famed CBS reporter once named “the most trusted man in America.” Brinkley is also a historian, conservationist, political commentator and a history fellow at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy.
