A Place

A place of sleepiness and solitude,

Of deafening silence of immeasurable magnitudes

Of many stars stretched upon the heavens, sleepy and serene

The luck of three sevens in a slot machine

A place of sadness and fear

Of failed visionaries blinded by tears

Of spiraling smoke, and streams of screams

Of skeletons, scares, and shattered dreams

A place of hellish hostilities and death

Of wars, and soldiers breathing their final breaths

Of alienated minorities with unwavering pride

Why do differences divide, rather than unite?

A place of education and learning

Of an unparalleled creative yearning

A quest to explore every crevice of the unknown

To reveal many secrets of what hasn’t been shown

A place of life and love

Of many families sharing the same bright sun

Of creation, destruction, and rebirth

This place…is the Earth
