Promontory

I know that many tales were fated to last

These tales are countless worlds, bound together by present and past

I saw a sea of stars stretched upon the heavens and the flowing moonlight

My tale was just one of those stars, guiding my path throughout many nights

It is our destiny to choose where our tales begin and end

We are guided by the memories of moments past around every bend

We witness the power of determination, optimism, hope, and love

And are inspired by other’s tales, watching and guiding us to a bright and glorious future from the heavens above

Of course, one’s journey also offers countless obstacles to face

Competition, anger, sadness, and fear, are just a few of the factors in this race

Some tales are of visionaries, with dreams of doing only what’s right

Some succeed, the rest are blinded by the sorrow of losing their fights

These were my thoughts as I walked onto the promontory, you see

Looking at the stars, the land, and seas of endless opportunities

I could’ve sworn that my tale had been halted at this point in time

Just so I could see my reflection in the sea of stars, of me in my prime!

Regardless of whether my destiny is to succeed or fail

I must continue along my starlit trail

With the past in mind and the present in hand

My future holds a place for me, in some unknown land
