Fordham Baseball Dominates Iona in Weekend Series Sweep

In their first weekend series in the Bronx, Fordham baseball dominated Iona College in a three game sweep. They outscored their opponent 32-3 over the course of the weekend, with batters and pitchers easily handling the Gaels throughout each contest.

Fordham Women’s Basketball Falls in Stunning A10 Semifinal Loss, 60-55

March 10, 2020

The Fordham women’s basketball team blew a 17-point lead in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament against Virginia Commonwealth University. In the final minute, the Rams missed three of four free throws and lost 60-55, ending their bid for the NCAA Tournament. It is a bitter end to a season in which far more was expected of them.

Despite an inconsistent performance overall, several members of Fordham track did well enough to qualify for the ECAC/IC4A Championship in March.

Semisweet Run for Men’s and Women’s Track at Valentine Invitational

February 21, 2020

Fordham men’s and women’s track raced at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts, on Friday, Feb. 14, and Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. The Rams’ efforts were not extraordinary, but rewarding in that many will have the opportunity to race at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Championship on March 7 and 8.

Baseball Loses Big Down South to Start Season

February 18, 2020

In their first series of the season, Fordham baseball lost badly to Florida International University in all three games. The Panthers far outclassed the Rams, outscoring them 46-9 across 25 innings of baseball. Historically though, difficult preseason games have paid off for Fordham later in the season.

Joel Soriano, Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH) ’23, managed 11 rebounds in the match against Richmond.

Men’s Basketball Rolls Over Against Richmond, 59-53

In their game against Richmond, men’s basketball gave up a seven-point lead in the second half in what would eventually result in a 59-53 defeat. It is their ninth loss in the Atlantic 10 conference this season and the fourth occasion in which they blew a first half lead.

Fordham Fights in Vain in Loss to No. 7 Dayton, 70-56

In their game against the nationally ranked Dayton Flyers, men’s basketball was routed, 70-56. However, in a game they were supposed to lose, the Rams showed flashes of efficient play, giving small hope to an already doomed season.

Men’s Basketball Makes History in 55-39 Loss to Saint Louis

Against Saint Louis Sunday, Fordham men’s basketball did something they hadn’t done in more than a decade. The team only managed to score 39 points in their loss to the Billikens, the third time since 2000 they haven’t reached 40 points and the first time since 2004.

It’s clear the student body is fed up with the service we get from the Ram Van, so Fordham should replace them with something more economical, practical and environmentally friendly: Rams in Vans.

Football Figures it Out For First Win

After a 0–2 start and three unremarkable quarters, Fordham scored 23 unanswered points in the fourth quarter against Bryant University, earning their first win of the season in a blowout.

Some donations were larger than others, but after a 1,841-minute Giving Day, Fordham made almost one million dollars.
