I found this one more challenging than usual. Needed help from reveal wrong letters in SW. (I never learned the 43D acronym in school, and not because I didn’t take math; and I didn’t know 42A is a thing. Apparently it is a mat for opening jars.)
Game related theme is nice, though the themers don’t all “play” together. 17A and 27A and maybe 52A should or could have “GAME” after them, but the others are game-related words or phrases. For 52A it would not be what kind of game but where it is played.
Clue for 16A is off: “the” is a definite article, not indefinite. Also boo: PROER, which no one said ever.
