Fordham announced on April 13 that it will host in-person commencement ceremonies between Monday, May 17, and Thursday, May 20, for graduating students, who may bring two guests each. This is Fordham’s first announcement about specific hybrid ceremony plans since a Feb. 12 email that said graduation would be held both virtually and in-person with only graduating students. 

These ceremonies will take place and will be livestreamed so that additional family members and friends can watch. 

Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo had previously enforced a limit of no more than 150 people per graduation ceremony. On April 12, Cuomo altered this limit to be based on the event size and location. Due to space restrictions, Fordham is unable to release more than two tickets per student.

All attendees, including students, will still be required to abide by COVID-19 restrictions. They will have to show either a complete COVID-19 vaccination series or a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of the ceremony. Additionally, they will have to complete a health questionnaire. Social distancing and masks will also be enforced at the ceremonies.

The main university commencement ceremony will still be conducted virtually on May 22, as originally planned. 

The dean’s office and commencement team will be releasing more information next week regarding specific times and dates, and ticketing information next week. Information will be available on the Commencement Ceremony website.
