The Word Between the Sheets: FCLC Sex Stats
February 12, 2019
Over the past month, The Observer conducted an anonymous survey about sexual activity and health among undergraduate students on campus. These are the responses from the 315 students who took the survey. While some of the answers are light-hearted, we hope that the results provide insight into the Lincoln Center community. Sex remains a taboo topic that is often not discussed within the university, but this information provides data to highlight the reality of sex at Fordham.
This survey was designed and conducted by our news desk.

Sophie Partridge-Hicks is the editor-in-chief of The Observer. A senior at Fordham Lincoln Center, she is double majoring in anthropology and Middle Eastern studies and minoring in journalism. Sophie interned for WNBC’s Investigations Unit and is the former news editor. She is originally from London, England.

Gabe Samandi, Fordham College at Lincoln Center ’22, served as a news editor for The Fordham Observer in 2019. Starting as a freshman reporter covering race, economics and student organizations, Gabe worked for two years at the Observer’s News desk.
Following his study abroad in South Africa, which coincided with Fordham’s 2020 shutdown to a digital campus, he left his E-Board position to specialize on stories about racism, culture and inequality - and to practice his photography. Gabe Samandi is majoring in international studies and is a native of San Antonio, Texas.

Ruby Gara, Fordham College at Lincoln Center ’21, is a journalism major and became a staff writer for The Observer during her freshman year. She then became the assistant news editor her second semester at Fordham and has been the news editor since August 2018. Budapest-born, Ruby is half Cuban and half Hungarian and speaks five languages (English, Spanish, French, Hungarian and German). Her hobbies include seeing plays in addition to exploring the hidden gems of New York City.

Jordan Meltzer, Gabelli School of Business ’20, is a news editor emeritus for The Observer. A global business major concentrating in communication and media management, Jordan has written for all five sections of The Observer, but his dedication is to the news section. Topics of particular interest to Jordan are politics, music and the many goings-on at Fordham Lincoln Center. Jordan is also a Yankees fan and advocates for the universalization of the designated hitter.
