Members of the Fordham community received another security alert on Thursday night. According to the email sent out to members of the Fordham community by the Office of Public Safety, “a Female Fordham student reported that she had been robbed at knifepoint a week prior, on September 3, between 8 and 8:30 p.m., on West 62nd Street in Manhattan,” right outside the entrance of McKeon Hall. The student was not injured and the assailant, who was asking for money, fled the scene in possession of the student’s MetroCard.

The student did not report the incident directly after it occurred. “Whenever the complainant comes to as and tells us what happened, then we let the University community know immediately,” Robert Dineen, director of public safety at Lincoln Center, said. The office of public safety provides advice for students through their programs on campus, as well as their annual security and fire safety reports, and their emergency procedures handbook.
