“People Judge Me Because I’m Pretty,” Fordham Student Says
September 8, 2015
On Sept. 4, Felicia Czochanski, Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH) ’17, had an essay published by Cosmopolitan entitled “People Judge Me Because I’m Pretty.” In the article, Czochanski described herself as “a girly girl … who can typically be found in a dress or a skirt,” and explained her difficulties with daily catcalls “expanded to looks and awkward situations from creepy professors, bosses, and coworkers,” she said.
Czochanski, according to her LinkedIn profile, works as a freelance assistant at The New York Times, and summarizes herself as an “internationally award winning essayist and honored writer.” The essay is her first article for Cosmopolitan Magazine, through a program called the Mix which is a network for prospective contributors for all Hearst publications to receive story ideas and pitch their own articles for sale and publication on a magazine’s website. Any interested person is eligible to sign up online.
As of Sept 9, Czochanski has set her social media profiles to private including her LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram profiles.

I do believe the view that someone is being judged for their attractiveness and that’s all they see is shallow. I don’t condone cat calling or inappropriate comments, but there’s nothing wrong with someone appreciating another person’s appearance or their own appearance as long as it’s respectful.
